What is a glow up?

A glow up is when you look better than before, and you can see it. People think it needs a big change. It does not.

It comes from small things you do every day. Skin, hair, grooming, posture, clothes and sleep. Each one adds a little. Together they add a lot.

The six areas

AreaOne small step to start
SleepGo to bed at the same time each night. Sleep seven to nine hours.
SkinWash your face, use a moisturizer, and use sunscreen in the morning.
HairGet a haircut that suits your face. Keep it clean.
GroomingClean nails, neat eyebrows, a tidy beard or a clean shave.
PostureStand tall. Shoulders back, chin level.
ClothesWear clothes that fit you and are ironed.

A simple plan

Do not start all six at once. Add one area each week.

  1. Week 1: sleep and water. These are free, and they often show on your face first.
  2. Week 2: skin. Start a simple skincare routine with three steps.
  3. Week 3: hair and grooming. Book a haircut. Clean up your nails, eyebrows and beard.
  4. Week 4: posture. Learn how to fix your posture with a few daily habits.
  5. Week 5: clothes. Keep the clothes that fit. Fix or give away the ones that do not.

Keep each habit when you add the next one.

A daily checklist

  • Wash your face in the morning and at night.
  • Use a moisturizer. Use sunscreen in the morning.
  • Drink water through the day.
  • Brush your teeth twice.
  • Stand and sit tall.
  • Wear clean, ironed clothes that fit.
  • Go to bed on time.

It takes about ten minutes a day.

Take a photo every week

You see your face every day. So you do not notice slow change. A weekly photo shows it.

Take it in the same place, in the same light, at the same time of day. Our guide shows how to take progress photos that you can compare.

What does not work

  • Doing everything in one week. You will stop.
  • Buying many products at once. You will not know which one helps.
  • Filters. They hide the change you want to see.
  • Copying someone else's face. The goal is the best you, not a different person.

An app that keeps you on track

Ukti is our app. Once a week you take two photos, and it gives you a Look score. It reads your face, skin, hair and grooming.

  • It shows the one part where you can gain points fastest this week.
  • It gives you a short list of things to do, and a daily checklist.
  • It shows your score today and the score you could reach.
  • It puts this week's photo next to last week's.

The score is guidance for looking your best. It is not medical advice.

Be careful

This guide is general advice. It is not medical advice. If you have a skin problem, pain, or trouble sleeping that does not go away, please see a doctor.

Common questions

How long does a glow up take?

You can feel better in a week, with more sleep and cleaner habits. Changes that other people notice, like clearer skin or better posture, usually take several weeks. Take a photo each week so you can see it.

What is the first step to glow up?

Sleep. Go to bed at the same time each night and sleep seven to nine hours. Tired skin and tired eyes are the first things people see.

Can I glow up without spending money?

Yes. Sleep, water, standing straight, clean nails, ironed clothes and a neat haircut cost little or nothing. They change how you look more than costly products do.

Is there a glow up app?

Ukti has a weekly Look score. It reads your face, skin, hair and grooming from two photos, shows the one part to work on this week, and gives you a daily checklist. You can compare this week's photo with last week's.
