Shop the look, but shop your closet first

Most shopping apps want you to buy more. Ukti starts with the clothes you already own. When an outfit needs one item you do not have, Ukti shows you that item and links you to a shop. Nothing is sold inside the app.

Shop your closet first

You probably own more good outfits than you think. So Ukti looks in your closet before it looks in a shop.

Ukti picks outfits from your own clothes. If your closet is small, it may add one new item or build a whole new look. It tells you which.

This is how you buy less and wear more.

How it works

  1. Get an outfit. Ukti picks one every morning from your clothes.
  2. Look at the list of items. Each item is marked as one you own or a new one.
  3. Tap a new item. Ukti opens the product page, or a Google Shopping search for that item. It opens inside the app's browser.
  4. Buy from the shop, if you want. You pay the shop, not Ukti.

What you see for a new item

  • What it is. For example, a white shirt or brown loafers.
  • A price, when Ukti has one.
  • A link to the product page or to a shop search.

The items you already own are in the same list. So you can see how much of the outfit you have.

Ask the stylist to shop a look

You can also talk to Ukti. The voice stylist has three things you can ask for. One of them is help to shop a look.

What is missing in your wardrobe?

A gap in your wardrobe is an item that would finish many outfits. For example, a plain white shirt, or one pair of neat shoes.

When an outfit needs an item you do not own, Ukti lists it as new. That shows you a gap in your wardrobe.

Here is a simple rule before you buy anything:

  • Can you wear it with three things you already own?
  • Will you wear it at least once a week?
  • Do you already own something that does the same job?

Our guide to a capsule wardrobe explains how to own fewer clothes and wear them more.

Skin products too

Ukti also reads your skin once a week. It may suggest products that fit your reading, with the reason, the price and a link to a shop. It also says when you need nothing new. Read about the skin reading.

What it does not do

  • It does not sell anything. There is no cart and no checkout in the app.
  • It does not have a wishlist.
  • It does not send price alerts.
  • It does not add clothes to your closet from shop websites. You add clothes with photos.

How to start

Get Ukti from the App Store or Google Play. It is free to download. Some features need a membership. The app shows the price before you pay.

Add your clothes to your digital closet. Then get your outfit for the day and look at the list of items.

Common questions

Can I buy clothes inside Ukti?

No. Nothing is sold inside the app. For an item you do not own, Ukti opens the product page or a shop search. You buy from that shop.

What does shop the look mean?

It means buying the items you need to wear an outfit you like. In Ukti, most of the outfit comes from your own closet. So you only look for the item that is missing.

Does Ukti show prices?

Ukti shows a price for a new item when it has one. The shop's own page shows the final price.

How do I know which items I already own?

Each outfit comes with a list of its items. Every item is marked as one you own or a new one. You see both in the same list.
