Why it works: Ukti explains every outfit

Most apps give you an outfit and stop. Ukti also tells you why. Each outfit comes with a short reason, the weather it was picked for and the items it was built on. So you do not just get dressed. Over time, you start to see what works on you.

An outfit with a reason

A friend with good taste does not only say "wear this". They say "wear this, because the color is good on you and it will be cold tonight".

Ukti does the same. Every morning it picks one outfit from your own clothes. And it tells you why that outfit works.

In the app, this is called Why this look.

Where to find it

  1. Open the Today tab. You see your outfit for the day.
  2. Tap Why.
  3. A panel opens with the reason and the details.

What you see

In the appWhat it tells you
The reasonA short note on why this outfit works for you today.
WeatherThe weather the outfit was picked for.
Built onThe items from your closet that the outfit was built on.
How to wear itUp to three short tips. You see these when Ukti styles a new look for you.
RememberedA small note about an item, like when you added it to your closet.

Not every outfit shows every line. Ukti only shows a line when it has something to say.

An example

Here is what a reason can look like. This is only an example.

  • The outfit: a linen shirt with the sleeves rolled once, and beige pants.
  • The reason: "Warm colors suit your skin tone. This outfit uses them."
  • Weather: a hot, sunny day.
  • Built on: your linen shirt and your beige pants.

What makes an outfit work

A good outfit gets four things right. These are the things a reason is about.

ThingThe questionLearn more
ColorDo the colors suit your skin tone, and each other? What colors suit me
ShapeDoes the outfit suit your body and your height?Dress for your body type
OccasionIs it right for where you are going?Office dress codes

Why a reason helps

  • You trust the outfit. It is easier to wear something when you know why it was picked.
  • You learn. After some weeks, you start to see which colors and shapes work on you.
  • You shop better. When you know what works, you buy fewer things you never wear.

A reason, not a grade

The daily outfit comes with a reason. It does not come with a score.

Do you want a score? When Ukti builds outfits in your closet for an occasion, each one gets a score out of 10. Read how Ukti can rate your outfit.

If you do not agree

A reason is not a rule. Some days the outfit is not right for your plans. Then tell Ukti about your day, by voice or by typing, and get a different outfit. Read about the voice stylist.

How to start

Get Ukti from the App Store or Google Play. It is free to download. Some features need a membership. The app shows the price before you pay.
